Kai (they/them) is a registered dietitian, dancer, mentor, and translator with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with eating disorders. They’ve been dancing for nearly three decades and are deeply committed to providing sound, compassionate nutrition education to dancers of all ages and levels.
Kai believes that while we cannot ignore the culture of the dance world, we can shift how we care for ourselves within it—prioritizing well-being and longevity over outdated norms. Their work is rooted in inclusivity and harm reduction, helping dancers reframe their relationships with food, body, and performance.
Kai has shared their expertise widely, including as a speaker for the Royal Academy of Dance on “In Support of Body Diversity in Ballet Training,” a guest on the podcast Dance Recovering from Eating Disorder with Dietitian Kai Iguchi, and numerous national and international conferences.
